"Born in Bagdad (Iraq) the 14th of August, 1944, where I did my primary and secondary school. After graduation I studied chemistry and microbiology at the University of Liége, Belgium, and worked as microbiologist. In 1980 I arrived in Germany and worked one year at Paul-Ehrlich-Institut in Frakfurt am Main. Since 1981 I have been working as artist in Germany. and Hammamet,
It is possible to build a bridge between the peoples of our nations and countries, for the influence excerted by the arts is by no means exhausted. It can provide people with hope in that it opposes violence, racism and hate between nations.
As an artist, as Iraqi, I am compelled to focus my atention on the tragic state of our world. It is my duty to make it clear where I stand but I am only able to offer my art.
Art is not there to satisfy our decorative needs or to make our homes more attractive, it is not an object to speculate with, but rather a promise of a mental and spiritual participation, a catalyst which offers forms for discussion."

"Ich wurde am 14.August 1944 in Bagdad geboren, wo ich meine Schulzeit verbrachte. Nach dem Abitur
studierte ich Chemie und Mikrobiologie an der Universität Lüttich in Belgien und arbeitete anschließend als Mikrobiologe.
1980 kam ich nach Deutschland und arbeitete zunächst für ein Jahr am Paul-Ehrlich Institut in Frankfurt am Main.
Seit 1981 bin ich in Deutschland nur noch als Künstler tätig.
Kunst übt einen unerschöpflichen Einfluss aus. Sie kann Brücken bauen und nationalen Hemmnissen
entgegen wirken.
Als Künstler fühle ich mich verpflichtet meinen Blick auch auf die tragischen Zustände unserer Welt zu richten. Meinen Standpunkt verdeutliche ich durch
meine Bilder. Sie sind meine Sprache."
